Wontumi Declares Himself a ‘Striker’ in Politics, Vows to Score Winning Goal for NPP

Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiko, popularly known as Wontumi, has declared himself a “striker” in politics, poised to score a winning goal for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 elections. In a one-on-one interview with Sir Yaw Nimaako on Angel in the Morning, Wontumi expressed his unwavering optimism and assertiveness, attributing the party’s potential victory to their strategic decision to choose Dr. Mamud Bawumia, a Muslim, as their flagbearer for the first time.

Wontumi, known for his charismatic leadership and unrelenting passion for the NPP, emphasized that the party’s decision to select a Muslim candidate would resonate with a significant portion of the electorate, particularly in the Zongo communities. “We have made history by choosing a Muslim as our flagbearer, and it will pay off in the elections,” he said.

The NPP chairman credited the party’s leadership for their “masterstroke” in choosing Dr. Bawumia, which he believes will be a game-changer in the upcoming elections. “Choosing Dr. Bawumia was a strategic move, and it’s a one-touch victory for us,” he declared.

With his characteristic confidence and assertiveness, Wontumi assured the NPP faithful that the party would emerge victorious in the 2024 elections. “We will win the election on one touch, and I’m the striker who will score the winning goal,” he said.
