A five-day workshop, organized by Effective Islamic English Cross-Cultural Communication (EIECC) in partnership with Ashanti region Ahlasuna Wal Jamaah (ASWAJ), aimed to equip Muslims with effective communication skills to showcase the true, peaceful nature of Islam. Dr. Sheikh Ismail Saeed Adam, Ashanti Regional Chief Imam of ASWAJ, emphasized the importance of cross-cultural interactions in promoting understanding and harmony among diverse communities.
The workshop sought to address common misconceptions about Islam and Muslims, encouraging participants to exhibit the beauty and peacefulness of Islamic culture. Dr. Adam stressed that Islam is a religion of peace, and Muslims should be seen as peaceful people.
In a timely message, the Chief Imam urged the youth to resist being exploited by politicians for violent purposes, especially as the December 7 polls approach. Participants expressed their appreciation for the workshop, citing significant gains in understanding Islam and overcoming communication barriers.
The collaboration between EIECC and ASWAJ demonstrates a commitment to promoting a positive image of Islam and fostering greater understanding and harmony among communities. By empowering Muslims with effective communication skills, the workshop aims to break down stereotypes and promote peace and coexistence
