In a decisive step towards enhancing security, the Ahafo regional ministry Hon George Yaw Boakye has cut sod today to build a military barracks in Sankore, within the Asunafo South District and Kenyase of Asutifi North of the Ahafo Region according to the Regional Minister briefing today Tuesday 16th July 2024
The construction of the military barracks which is funded by Newmont Ghana is a strategic move to address the growing security concerns in the region. The initiative aims to provide a robust security presence to deter criminal activities and ensure the safety of residents.
“The establishment of a military barracks in Sankore is part of our comprehensive approach to improving security across the Ahafo Region,” the Regional Minister stated. “This facility will enable our armed forces to respond swiftly and effectively to any security challenges, thereby ensuring peace and stability for our communities.”
The new barracks will feature modern amenities, including living quarters, training facilities, and administrative offices. The project is set to begin in the coming months, with a target completion date within the next three months.
