Heal KATH Project Gets Boost from KNUST with Donation and Expertise

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has thrown its weight behind the Heal Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Project, a noble initiative aimed at renovating the 70-year-old Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). The university’s College of Health Sciences has donated a sum of GH₵ 125,000 to the project, in addition to offering its expertise in various fields to ensure the successful completion of the renovation.

Launched by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Heal KATH Project is a two-year initiative aimed at raising $10 million to renovate Blocks A, B, C, and D of the hospital. The project seeks to improve the infrastructure and facilities of the hospital, enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided to patients. The project is a testament to the Asantehene’s commitment to improving healthcare in the Ashanti Region and beyond.

The KNUST College of Health Sciences’ donation of GH₵ 125,000 is a significant boost to the project. The university’s support goes beyond financial aid, as it will also provide expertise in various fields, including architecture, quantity surveying, engineering, and biomedical sciences. Experts from these fields will work closely with the project team to ensure that the renovation is done to the highest standards.
