The Zarmai (Zabarma) Anna-Maria Festival, a vibrant celebration of cultural heritage, took place in the Greater Accra Region under the theme “Rise and Shine Zabarma.” The event brought together Zabarma communities from across Ghana, fostering unity and promoting cultural pride among participants.
In his address, the Zongo Chief of Ablekuma Joma, Shariki Ammed Abass, expressed gratitude to God and extended thanks to the National Chief Imam, Shariki, and other dignitaries for their efforts in uniting the Zabarma people. He also offered valuable advice to the youth ahead of the upcoming elections, urging them to vote peacefully and avoid potential conflicts.
Alhaji Adamu, the Zabarma Chief of Sekondi and General Secretary and Regional Chief of the Western Region, highlighted the significance of the festival as an annual event that strengthens relationships among Zabarma communities and the larger Muslim population in Ghana. He emphasized the importance of hard work and dedication to contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.
This year’s festival marked the third edition of the event, which continues to grow in prominence and participation. The celebration serves as a testament to the unity and cultural pride of the Zabarma people, promoting a sense of community and shared heritage.
