Yagbonwura Bans Hon. Abu Jinapor from Visiting Gonja Kingdom Palaces

The King of the Gonja Kingdom, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Soale Jewu Soale, has issued a comprehensive ban on the Member of Parliament for Damongo constituency and Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor, from visiting any palace in the Gonja Kingdom. This decisive move follows a demonstration by the youth of Gonjaland against the MP, who they accuse of disrespecting the traditional authority and undermining the peace and unity of the kingdom.

The ban was announced at the Jakpa Palace, the seat of the Yagbonwura, after a gathering of the youth and elders of Gonjaland. The King’s interpreter explained that Abu Jinapor’s actions have been deemed a threat to the stability and cohesion of the kingdom, citing specific instances of disrespect and insubordination towards the traditional authority.

According to the King, Abu Jinapor has consistently used his position in government to circumvent the traditional authority and orders of the Yagbonwura. This has led to a breakdown in communication and trust between the MP and the traditional leaders of Gonjaland. The King emphasized that this behavior will no longer be tolerated and that the ban is intended to restore respect and order in the kingdom.

The youth of Gonjaland, represented by the Chief of Sakpala, Jantonwura Peter Awusi Yakubu, enthusiastically supported the King’s decision. They reiterated the ban and stressed that it is final and binding on all paramountcies within the Gonja kingdom. The statement emphasized that the King will not receive any government delegation, political party, or individual that includes Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, effective immediately.
