Wassa Amenfi Traditional Council calls for stakeholder collaboration to improve education in the area

Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, the President of the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Council, in the Western Region, has called on stakeholders in the education sector to collaborate and put in place measures to help  improve the quality of education in the area.

He said such collaborations would ensure that every child in Wassa Amenfi would be better equipped with the requisite knowledge to spur growth in their communities.

He made the call when the chiefs and people of Wassa Amenfi celebrated this year’s Adim Kese Festival at Wassa Akropong.

It was on the theme: “Building a Legacy of Education for Wassa Amenfi.”

Tetrete Sekyim II noted that the theme for the event spoke to the conviction that true wealth was measured by the capacity of the youth to dream, innovate, and lead through access to quality education for all.

He said: “Wassa Amenfi is rich in fertile lands, we are blessed with minerals beneath our earth that fuel the nation’s prosperity, and blessed with industrious, resilient, and visionary people.

“Yet, let us speak with clarity and conviction: the greatest resource of our land is not what lies beneath it, but what lies within it, which is the potential of our youth.”

The Paramount Chief, thus, called on the government, development partners, non-governmental organisations, and other key stakeholders to work together build an educational system anchored on equity and quality for the people of Wassa Amenfi.

“Our youth are the living heartbeat of our tomorrow, so in this rapidly evolving digital age, education must not remain static, it must evolve and benefit every child to become successful in future,” Tetrete Sekyim II added.

He continued: “Let us equip every classroom in Wassa Amenfi with reliable electricity, internet access, and functional science laboratories, and train our teachers in modern methods so that they teach not merely facts, but critical thinking, creativity, and resilience into the minds of our children.”
