Mr James Kwesi Addison, Ghana’s first Internationally Certified Emotional Intelligence Master Coach, has stated that it is time every Ghanaian workplace ensures that no voice went unheard.
Mr Addison made the suggestion at the launch of a 100-page book titled; “Voices Unmuted: Psychological Safety and Leadership in Ghanaian Work Culture,” at Accra.
The event coincided with the Mid-Year Review Meeting of Glico Pensions, where Mr Addison facilitated a training on Psychological Safety, drawing executives and staff of the Glico Group, which taught leaders to be committed to reshaping Ghana’s workplace culture.
The book was dedicated to Mr Kennedy Asante Osei Esq, General Manager of the Despite Group of Companies and Mrs Maame Dufie Acheampong-Kyei Obeng, Managing Director of GLICO Life.
Mr Addison, the author, said he was inspired by the extraordinary encouragement earlier this year, when a number of them obtained copies of his previous book, entitled “Emotional Intelligence for Transformational Leadership and Management,” during a training session with GLICO Life in Accra.

“The book is a call to action, because psychological safety is foundation for trust, innovation and leadership in our workplaces, and it is time every Ghanaian workplace ensures that no voice goes unheard,” he indicated.
He added that, it was a timely reflection on leadership, workplace culture and employee wellbeing within the Ghanaian context, rooted in life experiences and traditional values.
It also featured the exploration on how the country’s cultural norms empower, limit and shape the emotional environment of organisations, amplifying the silent frustrations and unspoken fears that many workers faced, and offered a culturally-grounded pathway towards safer, more inclusive and emotionally-intelligent workplaces.”
“It is more than financial support, but a strong endorsement of home-grown knowledge, leadership growth and the role of emotional intelligence in Ghanaian workplace culture,” he added.
Dr Francis Sapara-Grant, Chief Executive Officer of Glico Pensions, who chaired the launch received the first official copy and emphasised the relevance of the book which had come at a better time.
He said Glico valued the well-being of their staff and knew that innovation thrived only when people felt safe to share ideas without fear, adding that Mr Addison had provided a resource that will guide leaders across Ghana.
Dr Sapara-Grant further demonstrated his support by obtaining 50 copies of the book for distribution to the staff at ensuring that the message of Voices Unmuted became part of the company’s leadership and development journey.
Mr Benjamin Avickson, Chief Sales Officer of GLICO Life, extended congratulations to Mr Addison on this milestone and appreciated him for dedicating his work to the Group with a message of psychological safety that every leader in Ghana must embrace.
“We remain committed to supporting initiatives that build trust, respect, and courage in Ghanaian workplaces,” he added.
