Viral galamseyer apologises for threatening to rob President Akufo-Addo and daughter

A self-proclaimed galamseyer, who gained attention after threatening to rob President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, his daughter, and others on the highway, has issued a public apology for his remarks.

In the initial video, the man criticized the president’s ongoing efforts to combat galamsey (illegal mining), claiming they were misguided. He warned that if the crackdown continued, he would resort to highway robbery, specifically mentioning the president’s daughter as a target.

“Those trying to stop galamsey, I’ve brought all my equipment home, and I don’t even know what to do with it,” he said. “Now, I’m going to rob people and kill them one by one on the highway. Nana, if you want to stop galamsey, I will come and rob your daughter.”

However, in a follow-up video, the man apologized for his previous statements, insisting that he meant no harm and had spoken out of frustration.

“I plead in the name of God. I made a video, and now that it’s trending, I beg you in the name of God to please forgive me. Take it as if I am just a foolish child, and forgive me,” he said, further asking the public to view his remarks as foolish and not intended seriously.
