After missing out on the Ballon d’Or, Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. has been crowned FIFA Player of the Year 2024 at the Best FIFA Football Awards.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a stellar 2023/24 season, helping Real Madrid win La Liga, the Spanish Super Cup and the UEFA Champions League.

He also added the UEFA Super Cup to his tally at the start of the current campaign.
He was considered the favourite to win the Ballon d’Or but was beaten to the prize by Manchester City’s Rodri.

But Vinicius has now won the FIFA Player of the Year award, receiving the award at a gala in Qatar on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old megastar beats teammates Dani Carvajal, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Federico Valverde, as well as Toni Kroos, Lionel Messi, Rodri and Erling Haaland for the prestigious award.
