Valencia Strengthen Squad with Umar Sadiq Transfer

Valencia have signed the first contract of the Carlos Corberan era with the arrival of Umar Sadiq on loan.
The club have been working on a deal to bring the Nigeria international in ahead of Corberan’s return to the club.

The transfer has been given the green light by the new boss, with Real Sociedad happy to let go of the player who was no longer in their plans.
After injury ended Sadiq’s Real career before the start of 2022, he was a flop in San Sebastian, scoring just three goals last season.

Real have signalled their intention to let him go and Valencia have jumped at the chance, with the 27-year-old joining the club until the end of the season. As part of the deal, Valencia have a buyout clause of less than €10m this summer, according to Marca – with the club also paying a €1m loan fee.

Valencia have scored just 17 goals in 18 league games this season and Corberan is hoping Sadiq can turn the tide.
