United Suffer Fresh Injury Blow: Amorim Confirms Star Ruled Out

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has given an injury update on two first-team stars ahead of their Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow.

The Red Devils have made good progress since Amorim took charge last month and most recently recorded a stunning 2-1 win over Manchester City in the Premier League.

Midfielder Mason Mount was substituted earlier in the game with another injury and the manager confirmed he will not be available for the trip to London.

Noussair Mazraoui also picked up a knock against Pep Guardiola’s side. Amorim said the Moroccan would be assessed ahead of the League Cup tie at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He told Manutd.com: “Mason Mount is not available. He is injured. We will see today. The rest of the team is ready to play the game.

“We have to assess all the players and try not to have too many injuries. If we do this, we will be stronger in these kinds of moments. »
Manchester United have had a mixed run of results under Amorim, but there have been plenty of positives. The dramatic late win in the derby should inspire a lot of confidence in the current group of players.

Spurs won 3-0 in the league against the Red Devils at Old Trafford earlier this season. However, the match was decided by an unfortunate red card for Bruno Fernandes, which was overturned on appeal.
