Sunyani East MP organizes table tennis tournament to unearth talents

Mr Seid Mubarak, the Member of Parliament for Sunyani East, has organized a table tennis tournament to unearth and build the talents of young people in the constituency.

He told the media on the sidelines of the competition held at the Twene Amanfo Senior High and Technical School in Sunyani that “to me no sport is lesser.”

Mr Seid said advocated the construction of a multi-purpose sports complex to promote various sporting disciplines to discover and build the talents of the youth.

Mr Foster Kwame Opoku Boakye, the Bono Regional Sports Director, expressed concern about lack of facilities, which was discouraging the promotion of table tennis in the region.

Nonetheless, he added that the Regional Sports Authority was working tirelessly to revive the sport with the focus on organising table tennis clinics in Schools.

At the end of the tournament, Reginald Addo Ankamah defeated Benjamin Frempong to win the elite division, with Eric Adomah securing the third position.

The Team “B” category saw Bright Kuffour taking the crown after beating Bismark Yeboah, with Francis Darko taking the third position.

In the female division, Lovely Akua Agyeman exhibited a scintillating performance to win the crown after beating Raheal Adoma in the finale with Beatrice Amoako placing third.

They were all presented with certificates, medals and undisclosed sums of money.
