Structures Removed at Flower Pot Interchange by Titus Glover

The Minister for the Greater Accra Region, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, has taken resolute action against vendors operating illegally around the recently inaugurated Flower Pot Interchange in Accra.

Hon. Glover is seen demolishing tables and chairs set up by street vendors who had defied warnings to leave the area in a trending video spreading on social media.
The Minister’s decision is part of efforts to maintain the structural integrity and beautiful appeal of the newly inaugurated project, which is expected to improve traffic flow and connectivity on the Accra-Tema motorway.

This application follows Glover’s stern warning when the interchange was commissioned that no kiosks, containers or unauthorized structures should be installed near the intersection.
However, the vendors returned soon after the event, resuming their activities despite the directive. The Spintex-Flower Pot interchange, which includes a two-lane flyover and multiple ramps, aims to ease traffic congestion in key areas such as Spintex, Cantons, East Legon and Tema. Officials asked the public to cooperate in preserving the facility for long-term use.

Further measures should be implemented to ensure compliance and prevent the recurrence of such activities around the interchange.
