Stop downgrading women’s accomplishments – Cardi B Calls Out critics

American rapper Cardi B voiced her frustration over the negative stereotypes that successful women often encounter. She highlighted how, despite working significantly harder and outperforming their male counterparts, women’s accomplishments are frequently dismissed as products of their appearance or as attempts to advance by using their bodies.

Taking to her X account on Saturday, Cardi B expressed her anger over the criticism aimed at U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s candidate, arguing that Harris faces harsh scrutiny because she’s a woman. Cardi B shared that, like Harris, she has been the “underdog” whose achievements are often discounted.

She wrote, “Just like Kamala Harris, I have been the underdog and I have been underestimated!! My success always discredited. Women have to work ten times harder and still face excuses like ‘it’s because she’s pretty’ or ‘she slept her way to the top.’ I’m disgusted by the attacks on Kamala; they don’t just anger me but push me to do more. I can’t stand a bully!”

Cardi B’s statement follows her recent appearance at a Kamala Harris rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Friday night, where she publicly endorsed the Vice President in the upcoming presidential election.
