Sports Minister attends maiden Yingor Cup in support of grassroots sports

Mr Kofi Iddie Adams, Minister of Sports and Recreation, attended the inaugural Yingor Cup 2025 this weekend in Dabala, South Tongu.

The tournament saw Yingor FC defeat Cule FC 8–7 on penalties to lift the trophy in an enthralling grand finale.

The Sports Minister, who was the tournament’s special guest, was blown away by the skill, praising all the participating teams and congratulating the winner.

Mr Adams expressed excitement with the high level of passion and talent showcased at the community tournament as well as unity at the heart of grassroots football.

“Supporting grassroots sports is not just about football; it is about building opportunities, nurturing talent, and strengthening the foundation of Ghana’s sporting ecosystem.

“The Ministry of Sports and Recreation will continue to back local initiatives with equipment, financial support, and visibility as part of our national sports reset agenda,” said Mr Adams.

The Minister also expressed his commitment to grassroots growth of Ghanaian sports, including football and other disciplines.
