Elrad Amoako, the 16-year-old son of Archbishop Salifu Amoako, has been remanded in custody once more following his recent appearance before the Accra Juvenile Court. Elrad was initially detained after a fatal accident at East Legon on October 12, 2024.
As reported by GHOne TV on Instagram, the court scheduled his next appearance for November 13, 2024. During the prior hearing on November 1, the court set specific conditions for Elrad’s custody, including the surrender of his Ghanaian and U.S. passports by November 4 and a medical review at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) on the same date.
Additionally, the court has mandated that Elrad be provided urgent medical care if needed, with instructions for him to be taken to the Police Hospital for treatment of any health issues that may arise during his remand.
The accident occurred when Elrad, driving a Jaguar SUV (GN 7801-20), lost control and collided with an Acura 4×4 (GR 2542-23). The crash led both vehicles to catch fire, resulting in the deaths of two girls, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, who were passengers in the Acura.
In the aftermath, Bishop Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, were arrested on October 15 and later released on bail set at ¢50,000 each. The young victims, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, have since been laid to rest.
