Socrate Safo expresses frustration over neglect by NPP

Veteran film producer Socrate Safo has voiced his frustration over being overlooked by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), despite his strong support and active campaigning for the party.

His remarks follow similar complaints from veteran musicians Nicholas Omane Acheampong and Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong, who have both expressed disappointment at what they perceive as neglect and lack of recognition from the NPP, despite their long-standing contributions.

In a recent interview on Ash FM, Nicholas Omane Acheampong revealed that he has been a loyal supporter of the NPP since 2008, even dedicating four of his personal vehicles to the party’s campaign efforts. However, he claims his contributions have gone unrecognized, with no compensation or acknowledgment from the party.

Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong also lamented that despite his efforts to support the NPP, he has received little to no recognition or compensation from the party’s leadership.

In a panel discussion on Peace FM, Socrate Safo shared his deep frustration, stating that he has held back from fully expressing his disappointment with the NPP. He noted that if he were to speak out, his grievances would surpass those voiced by the two musicians.

“The things I have to say are more than what the two musicians have already spoken about, but I have kept quiet. I am managing it, not because I am a party member. I understand what they are saying a hundred and one percent. If I am not able to control myself, the sort of things I will let out will be more than what they have put out… I am speaking for all; someone may be in the Butterfly Party [Movement for Change] and will be going through what we are currently experiencing. Someone may be in the PNC going through the same thing. The political parties treatment of some of the people who volunteer for the party is so bad and provokes anger. All political parties across the country don’t appreciate their volunteers and treat them well,” Safo said.
