Mr. Governs Kwame Agbodza, Minister for Roads and Highways has donated an amount of 12,240 Ghana Cedis to the Adaklu District Directorate of Education.
The money is to cover the mock examination fees of the 680 Junior High School final year Students, who will be writing the mock prior to the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in June this year.
Mr. Jerry Yao Ameko, Adaklu Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress who presented the money on behalf of Mr. Agbodza stated that the donation was in response to an appeal to the Minister by Mr. Mac-Peter Dumatonu, Adaklu District Director of Education.

He noted with concern that the district which once held the enviable position of the best performing district in the BECE was now lagging.
The Chairman said it was their expectation that the numerous investments and interventions being put in place by Mr. Agbodza would yield positive results both in the BECE and West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination.
He called on traditional authorities, Assembly members, religious leaders and parents to support Mr. Agbodza in his quest to improve examination results in the district.
Mr. Ameko urged candidates who would be writing the mock to take it seriously as it would help them improve their BECE results.
Mr. Dumatonu, who received the money, was full of praise for Mr. Agbodza who is also the Member of Parliament for Adaklu for his prompt response to his appeal.
He stated that the unflinching support of the Minister towards educational issues in the district was excellent.
The Director mentioned some of the support such as the Best District Teacher Awards, meals for candidates during their BECE, educational infrastructure and financial support for brilliant but needy students.
He assured the Minister that the money would be used for its intended purpose.
