Former Deputy Volta Regional Minister Reverend Johnson Avuletey has called on supporters and sympathizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to assist the Party in breaking the eight so that it may continue its unparalleled development initiatives for Ghanaians.
According to him, the Party’s implementation of pro-poor initiatives like the Free Senior High School (FSHS), free maternal care, and Agenda 111 Hospital Infrastructure Projects, among others, needed to be explained for acceptance in order to keep the Party in power following the polls on December 7.
At the launch of the NPP’s Akan Constituency Campaign Team in Kadjebi, Oti Region, Rev. Avuletey made these remarks.
With the people of the Hohoe Constituency currently benefiting greatly from the efforts of Mr. John Peter Amewu, the only NPP member of parliament in the Volta Region, through large-scale development projects, the former Deputy Minister urged the voters of Akan to follow in his footsteps.
He stated that the Volta and Oti Region electorates’ persistent support of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the absence of development initiatives should be changed.
Therefore, Rev. Avuletey encouraged eligible voters in these regions to adopt a new perspective and cast their ballots for the NPP on December 7.
In addition, Kadjebi District Chief Executive Mr. Wilson Kwami Agbanyo urged voters in the Akan Constituency to support Akan NPP Parliamentary Candidate Mr. Mustapha Tassah and President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the December 7 elections.
In contrast to the NDC, he claimed the NPP government had completed a number of development projects in the area over the years, and voters ought to base their decision on these facts.
Mr. Agbanyo listed several developments carried out by the NPP government, including the “Agenda 111” Hospital project, the HNIA Regional Office, an ultra-modern Court Complex, and multiple classroom blocks and health facilities in the district, all located in Kadjebi.
In order for the electorate to choose which of the NPP and NDC parliamentary candidates for the Akan Constituency is qualified to represent them in Parliament, he urged the National Commission for Civic Education to arrange a discussion between them.
