President Mahama swears-in governing board of NCCEWS

President John Dramani Mahama has sworn-in the Governing Board of the National Centre for the Coordination of Early Warning Systems.

The 12-member governing board is under the chairmanship of Mr. Julius Debrah, the Chief of Staff at the Presidency.

The National Centre for Coordination of Early Warning and Response Mechanism (NCCRM), as established by Act 2021(Act 1070) is responsible for timely identification of an emerging crisis in Ghana and the West Africa sub-region, and the implementation of an improved crisis response mechanism.

It works closely with government agencies, CSOs, and other stakeholders to develop effective early warning systems and response mechanisms with a focus on human security.

Members of the Governing Board of the National Centre for the Coordination of Early Warning Systems include Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Minister for the Interior; Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Defence Minister; Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Foreign Affairs Minister; Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson; Finance Minister; Mr. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, Health Minister and Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister of Environment, Science and Technology.

Others are Mr. Samuel Nartey George, Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations; Dr Dominic Akrutinga Ayine, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice; Mr. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, Minister of Transport, and Colonel Emmanuel Sampson, Director of the National Centre for the Coordination of Early Warning and Response Mechanism.
