A-40-year police officer Sergeant Brown Kronkyie stationed at the Duayaw-Nkwanta Police station in the Tano North Municipality of the Ahafo Region has allegedly shot himself.

A police source at the station confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Monday and added that the deceased shot himself dead at the charge office while on duty.

The incident happened Thursday September 4, 2025, around 1730 hours and the police had since deposited the body at the Duayaw-Nkwanta St John of God Catholic Hospital for preservation and autopsy.

According to the source, the police discovered the body lying prostrate at the charge office. The deceased left behind a widow and two children.
