The Ghana Police have launched an investigation into an alleged attack on the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s convoy in Techiman, Bono East Region on Monday, December 2, 2024.

According to preliminary police reports, the incident occurred while the Asantehene was returning from a burial in Nkoranza.
The youths, apparently from Techiman, pelted stones at buses that were part of the convoy, causing disruption.

In a statement, the police said they were working closely with the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi and relevant stakeholders in Techiman to establish the facts and rectify the situation.

They therefore appealed to the public to remain calm and fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
