The Ghana Police Service has immediately arrested Detective Baba Amando Ibrahim, stationed at Tuna Police Station, Savannah Region, for professional misconduct.

The suspension comes after a viral video went viral showing the officer assaulting a member of the public.
According to the police, the move is aimed at facilitating a full investigation into his conduct, in line with police regulations.

In a brief statement, the police stressed that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has personally contacted the victim’s family, assuring them of the police’s support.

The IGP also asked the Savannah Regional Police Commander to work with the family to successfully resolve the case.\
