Ghanaian football stars Thomas Partey and Doris Boaduwaa won the top footballer prize in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively, at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards.
The awards gala held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, June 14, 2025, witnessed thriving Ghanaian footballers honoured for their impressive outing both locally and internationally.
Thomas Partey, who had a wonderful season for Arsenal, was adjudged Men’s Footballer of the Year, edging fellow countrymen Antoine Semenyo and Inaki Williams to win the coveted prize.
It was the third Footballer of the Year award won by Partey, who continues to play a crucial role for the Black Stars as they quest to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
Black Queens and Spartak Subotica striker Doris Boaduwaa claimed the top prize in the women’s category following her remarkable season.
The forward played a crucial role in the Black Queens’ qualification for the 2025 Women’s African Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco next month.
Black Stars and Nations FC defender Razak Simpson won the Home-based Footballer of the Year prize as well as the Goal of the Season award after his sizzling strike against Hearts of Oak in a week 21 encounter.
Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare won the Goalkeeper of the Year prize following his remarkable season that saw him earn a call-up to the senior national team, the Black Stars.
Berekum Chelsea’s Stephen Amankona and Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ Mary Amponsah won the top-scorer accolade in both the Ghana Premier League and Women’s Premier League, respectively.
