Negotiations between Paris Saint-Germain and Nuno Mendes appear close to an agreement. The two sides have been in talks for several months and were close to an agreement, but RMC Sport understands that talks have been stalled due to strong interest from Manchester United.
Following the signing of Ruben Amorim, Manchester United have switched to a three-back system. This means the Premier League side will look to deploy a defender, but Amorim’s current options are limited. RMC Sport understands that Manchester United have made an offer for Mendes and are pushing the player to join Old Trafford.
Other clubs are expected to join the race. Mendes is not indifferent to the Red Devils’ efforts to bring him to the club and, as things stand, the left-back wants to leave PSG. The Parisians, however, have not given up hope of extending the Portuguese’s contract and are against his departure next January.
