Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a stern warning to individuals planning to cause disturbances during the upcoming 2024 elections. While on a campaign tour in the Asunafo South Constituency of the Ahafo Region, Dr. Prempeh assured that anyone engaging in violent activities would be dealt with accordingly.
Addressing Chiefs, Clergy, and a mini rally at Noberkaw, he emphasized the NPP’s commitment to peaceful elections and economic growth without compromising the environment. He stressed that political affiliations would not influence the prosecution of persons caught engaging in acts of violence.
This warning comes after a recent clash between the NDC and NPP at Kwapong in the Asunafo South Constituency. Dr. Prempeh assured that the law would take its course, and the court would do its work in cases of violence.
The NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Asunafo South, Frank Aduse Poku, enumerated various developmental projects initiated by the NPP government and called for continuity. The Chief of Noberkaw, Nana Basua Kumanin, also rallied support for Frank Aduse Poku.
The NPP has reiterated its commitment to a smooth electoral process, and Dr. Prempeh’s warning is seen as a measure to ensure peace and stability during the elections.
