NPP MPs Urged to Swallow Pride

Bole Bamboi MP Yusif Sulemana has urged New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs to “put aside their egos” and accept their new minority position in Parliament.

Sulemana’s remarks followed growing frustration over the absence of NPP members from a recent parliamentary session, which they had originally requested.

Expressing his disappointment, Sulemana criticized the actions of the NPP, underlining the financial consequences of their absence.

“We have to talk about the fact that they have caused financial loss to the state, you can call us to come and not come because the Legislature will spend a lot of money to welcome them for nothing and if they come, they have to put their egos somewhere and we know that as we speak, they are in the minority, so they have to sit on the side of the minority,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House, Alban Bagbin, suspended the Parliament for an indefinite period of time, as the NPP MPs did not participate in the session that started.
