NPP Condemns Violence in Walewale Primaries

The National Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have strongly condemned the violent incidents that occurred during the collation of election results in the Walewale primaries. Speaking to the media at the party’s headquarters in Accra, General Secretary Justin Koduah Frempong stated that the party will take decisive action following their NEC meeting tomorrow, ahead of the Friday deadline for filing parliamentary candidate nominations.

Frempong commended the Ghana Police Service for their swift intervention in maintaining peace and order in Walewale. He emphasized that the NPP is a non-violent party and will take all necessary measures to ensure peace and stability within the party.

Frempong reiterated that the party’s leadership will continue to engage with members who intend to run as independent candidates until the Electoral Commission’s notice of polls is issued. The NPP is committed to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment within the party.

The party’s NEC meeting tomorrow will determine the next course of action, with a focus on upholding the NPP’s values of non-violence and promoting a peaceful resolution to the situation.
