New Edubiase Chief Endorses NPP’s Free SHS Policy

Nana Oduro Panin Burikuran, the Chief of New Edubiase, has publicly endorsed the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) free Senior High School (SHS) policy, describing it as a game-changer in Ghana’s education sector. The policy has significantly alleviated the financial burden on parents and guardians, and the Chief believes it’s crucial to protect it from potential cancellation by future governments.

The Chief made these remarks during a courtesy call by Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, NPP’s Vice Presidential Candidate, to the New Edubiase Chief Palace. Dr. Prempeh’s campaign tour of New Edubiase, Obuase East, and West highlighted the NPP’s achievements, including:

– Free SHS/TVET Policy: Benefiting 5.7 million young adults
– Ghana School Feeding Programme: Providing meals to over 4 million children
– Infrastructure Development: Construction of roads, schools, and hospitals

The Chief commended the government for undertaking developmental projects in the area, including road construction and school and hospital infrastructure development. He emphasized that the best way to protect the free SHS policy is to allow the NPP to continue in government.

Dr. Prempeh rallied support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the party’s parliamentary candidates in Obuasi East and West. The constituents demonstrated solid support for Dr. Bawumia, acknowledging him as the most reliable leader for the future.

In contrast, Dr. Prempeh highlighted the NDC’s neglect, citing the collapse of Anglo Gold Ashanti and neglect of critical infrastructure projects. However, it’s worth noting that Anglo Gold Ashanti has since been revitalized and is now working to create sustainable communities through various initiatives, including providing water systems to local communities and launching a ten-year socio-economic development plan.
