New details emerge on the tragic death of Patoranking’s sister and husband

The heartbreaking death of Chioma, sister of Nigerian singer Patoranking, and her husband, George O Buchi, has left netizens in shock. As more details surface, the tragic circumstances surrounding their demise have taken a new turn.

Initially reported as a gas explosion, new revelations from Chioma’s close friend Uchechi and other sources have debunked that claim. According to Uchechi, the couple died on August 25, 2024, at their newly built duplex in Ebonyi State. On the day of the incident, George detected a burning smell while upstairs with Chioma and their three-year-old son. As they approached the source, an explosion occurred, severely burning George and leaving Chioma injured.

While George fell into a coma, Chioma remained conscious and made phone calls to friends and family before they were rushed to the hospital. Sadly, Chioma passed away five days later on August 30.

Contrary to earlier reports, Seun Oloketuyi clarified in an Instagram post that the explosion was not caused by a gas leak or an inverter battery. The generator was also located far from the house. New reports from the blog Cutie Juls suggest the couple’s death was caused by a thunderstrike that hit their home’s gas system, triggering the fatal explosion.

Footage of the aftermath has surfaced on social media, further intensifying the grief surrounding this tragic incident.
