NDC Vows to Revive Aboso Glass Factory – Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang

Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has pledged to revive the Aboso Glass Factory to create jobs and boost Ghana’s economy. During a community engagement in Aboso, she emphasized the importance of revamping the factory, citing Ghana’s reliance on imported glass for construction purposes.

Revival Plans

– Create jobs as part of a 24-hour economy initiative
– Reduce Ghana’s dependence on glass imports
– Restore the factory to its former glory

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang noted that efforts were made to restart the factory during John Mahama’s presidency but were halted by the current administration. She reiterated the need for Ghana to restore the Aboso Glass Factory to create jobs and stimulate economic growth.

Community Concerns

The chief of Huni Valley, Nana Kwasi Adansi, appealed to Prof. Opoku-Agyemang to:

– Remember Huni Valley town in the NDC’s development plans
– Improve Goldfield Damang mine to recruit more youth, addressing redundancy caused by low mine production over the past two years

This pledge is part of the NDC’s campaign promises to revitalize Ghana’s economy and create employment opportunities.
