NDC Vows to March Napo Boot for Boot in 2024 Elections

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Augustus Nana Kwasi Andrews, has expressed unwavering confidence in the party’s chances of winning the 2024 general elections. Speaking at the Obuasi West NDC’s Parliamentary Candidate Manifesto Launch in Obuasi, Andrews assured party members of a resounding victory based on positive feedback from Ghanaians regarding their campaign.

Andrews took the opportunity to address what he perceives as disrespect from Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). Andrews emphasized that NAPO, allegedly from a royal family, should demonstrate respect and caution in his words, particularly towards Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, NDC’s running mate.

“We cannot continue to tolerate NAPO’s disrespect towards our beloved mother and running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang,” Andrews stated. He questioned why NAPO, who was reportedly asleep and snoring during the NPP’s Manifesto Launch, was allowed to disrespect Prof. Opoku Agyemang.

Madam Faustilove Appiah Kannin, NDC’s Obuasi West Parliamentary Candidate, outlined her vision for the constituency. She promised to:

1. Support widows through empowerment programs.
2. Enhance education by improving infrastructure and resources.
3. Boost youth employment through skills training and job creation initiatives.

Appiah Kannin expressed optimism that her leadership would bring about significant transformation and development in Obuasi.

As Ghana prepares for the 2024 elections, the NDC’s assurances of victory and criticisms of the ruling party’s members are likely to intensify. The NPP has yet to respond to Andrews’ comments.
