NDC Urges Transparency in Ghana’s Election Preparations

Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman of Ghana’s opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), is calling for transparency in election preparations to safeguard the country’s democracy. He believes that peaceful polls rely heavily on transparency before, during, and after the elections.

Asiedu Nketia emphasized that the NDC will closely monitor all activities to ensure a level playing field for all contestants in the 2024 polls. This move is crucial in maintaining Ghana’s democratic integrity and preventing potential disputes.

The NDC, founded by Jerry Rawlings, has a rich history in Ghanaian politics, having formed two governments since its inception. As a social democratic party, the NDC remains committed to principles and values of social democracy.

In recent years, the party has experienced significant electoral milestones, including winning the 2012 presidential election with John Dramani Mahama. However, the NDC lost the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections to the New Patriotic Party.

As Ghana prepares for the 2024 elections, Asiedu Nketia’s appeal for transparency underscores the importance of fairness and accountability in the electoral process
