NCCE organises quiz competition to bolster education in Central Tongu

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in Central Tongu has taken a significant step to promote education in the district by organizing a quiz competition for select schools.
The event, which featured students from Adidome Roman Catholic D/A Basic, Globeserve Frauenshuh Preparatory, Girls Model Junior High, and Delali Deladem Preparatory, tested their knowledge on various subjects, including political history, constitution, and general knowledge.
According to Mr. George A.K. Amey, the District Director of the NCCE, the quiz competition is part of the commission’s efforts to commemorate the Independence Day celebration and enhance education in Central Tongu.
He emphasised the importance of knowledge, stating that it is the key to unlocking opportunities and growth.
Mr. Amey also encouraged the students to embrace Ghanaian values, citing the NCCE’s theme for the year, “Ghana’s Future: Our Collective Responsibility.”
He charged parents and guardians to support and prioritise their ward’s education.
The quiz competition ended with Adidome Roman Catholic D/A school emerging as the winner with 34 points, followed closely by Globeserve Frauenshuh Preparatory school with 27 points. Girls Model Junior High School and Delali Deladem Preparatory school secured third and fourth places, respectively.
Certificates were awarded to all participating schools and contestants as well as copies of the 1992 constitution provided by Governance Africa Foundation.
Tutors and students praised the NCCE’s initiative. They urged the district Director to continue organising the quiz competition regularly.
