NAPO Dismisses Claims of Anti-Northern Bias

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice-Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has rejected claims that the party would not support a northerner as its presidential candidate. Addressing a rally in Atwima Nwabiagya, Ashanti Region, NAPO pointed to the example of Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, a Muslim northerner who has faithfully served as Vice-President to President Akufo-Addo for eight years.

NAPO pledged to similarly support Dr. Bawumia, the NPP’s Presidential Candidate, and help him realize his ambition of becoming President. He emphasized his readiness to serve Dr. Bawumia for eight years, just as Dr. Bawumia served President Akufo-Addo.

During his campaign tour of the Ashanti Region, NAPO met with chiefs, Muslims, clergy, and artisans in Atwima Mponua and Mpasatia. He assured the people of Nyinahini that he would give his all to ensure Dr. Bawumia becomes President.

NAPO highlighted the significance of the NPP’s social interventions, such as Free SHS and National Health Insurance, which he believes would be better safeguarded under an NPP government led by Dr. Bawumia. He expressed confidence that Dr. Bawumia would win the December 7 presidential elections and implement policies to transform the country.
