NAPO Commends SDA Church’s Vital Role in Ghana’s Development

Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Vice Presidential Candidate for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has commended the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church for its remarkable contributions to Ghana’s development. Speaking at a campaign rally in Kwaman, Ashanti Region, Dr. Prempeh acknowledged the church’s significant investments in education, healthcare, and other vital sectors, cementing its position as a national builder.

The SDA Church has a rich history in Ghana, dating back to 1888 when Francis I. U. Dolphijn of Apam became one of the earliest indigenous Seventh-day Adventist converts. Today, the church continues to play a pivotal role in the country’s development, with notable achievements in education, including the establishment of the Adventist Girls’ Vocational Institute in Techiman and Valley View University in Accra.

Dr. Prempeh emphasized the NPP government’s appreciation for the church’s efforts and commitment to continued collaboration with religious bodies for accelerated development. He urged all religious organizations, including the SDA Church, to support NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, in his bid for presidency.

Dr. Prempeh highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s bold and pragmatic solutions to Ghana’s challenges, setting him apart from competitors. A Bawumia-led government will prioritize inclusivity, ensuring all voices are heard and harnessing Ghanaians’ collective resourcefulness and talents. This vision aligns with Dr. Bawumia’s pledge to create a united and prosperous Ghana, where everyone has a stake.
