Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has assured cocoa farmers that the government will soon announce the producer price for cocoa beans for the 2024/2025 season. During his campaign tour of the Asunafo South and North constituencies in the Ahafo Region, he urged farmers not to be deceived by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on cocoa prices.

Dr. Prempeh highlighted the NPP’s achievements in increasing cocoa prices from over 400 cedis to over 2,000 cedis in the last seven years and promised further increases. He cautioned farmers to be wary of the NDC’s tactics and emphasized the NPP’s commitment to their welfare.

Addressing chiefs and religious leaders, Dr. Prempeh urged constituents to prioritize peace ahead of the elections and warned that the law would deal with anyone causing mayhem.

Nana Osei Yaw Dwomoh, Nifahene of Noberkaw, praised the NPP’s unprecedented developments, including good roads, electricity extension, and quality education. He endorsed the NPP’s renewed mandate and supported Frank Aduse Poku as the next MP.

The NPP’s commitment to cocoa farmers’ welfare and development was reiterated, with Dr. Prempeh’s assurance of a new cocoa price announcement soon.
