Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Manhyia South Constituency have elected Nana Agyei Baffuor Awuah as their parliamentary candidate for the December 7, 2024 election.
Nana Agyei Baffuor Awuah secured 376 votes, representing 71.48% of the valid votes cast. He will replace Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the NPP parliamentary candidate for Manhyia South in the upcoming election.
The fiercely contested primary saw the legal practitioner winning with 376 votes, while his closest contender, Nana Owusu Afriyie Prempeh, secured 141 votes, representing 26.82% of the valid votes cast. Akwasi Coker Gyambibi received 2 votes, and James Owusu Boakye got 7 votes.
The primary became necessary after four-time Member of Parliament Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh was nominated by the ruling party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as his running mate.
