Telecommunications giant, MTN Ghana, has donated hampers to celebrate some 20 babies born on Christmas day at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital (CCTH).

The hampers contained babies clothing, detergents, diapers and other personal effects.

The MTN is distributing 60 of such hampers in the Central Region and 600 across the country.

In the Central Region, the hampers were distributed at CCTH, Apam Government Hospital, Bawjiase Polyclinic, Mother and Child Hospital in Kasoa, and the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba.

Madam Regina Arkaifie, Human Resource Manager, Western and Central Regions, explained that the gesture, a corporate social responsibility, was a demonstration of the company’s love and care for its customers.

“Jesus Christ was given gifts to welcome him into the world. And so, it is a good time to also show our customers that we love and care for them by giving them something to welcome their babies on 25th and 26th December,” she said.

“It is our way of giving back to society and telling them that we love them as they welcoming their babies into the world,” she stressed.

Madam Arkaifie assured that the MTN would undertake more social investments in the country in 2025.

Madam Veronica Koomson, Deputy Child Nursing Officer, CCTH, thanked MTN for the kind gesture and commended the company for supporting babies born on Christmas Day for the past 13 years, saying the beneficiaries were very grateful to the company.

The visibly elated mothers expressed gratitude to MTN Ghana for bringing them relief and indicated that it would go a long way to help care for their new babies.
