Mfantsiman Old Girls President pledges to lead with integrity, inclusiveness

Mrs Henrietta Opokua Amissah, the new President of the Mfatsiman Old Girls Association (MOGA), has pledged to lead the group with Integrity, vision and inclusiveness through fostering community initiatives to empower members.
In an address at the Swearing-in and induction service for the newly elected National Executives at the Accra Ridge Church on Sunday, she mentioned other measures to achieve that goal, including offering mentorship programmes for current students to nature talents and shape their characters, while instilling values to guide them in all endeavours.
“We will harness the power of technology to connect with one another, expand opportunities, and enhance the impact of our association beyond the schools’ walls,” Mrs Amissah said.

“We will encourage a culture of giving back, knowing that the success we enjoy today is a gift from those who paved the way before us.”
The MOGA President touched on how, together with the other executive members, she would commit to making an impact on their alma mater through new projects and the completion of ongoing ones left by their predecessors.
“We will seek to embark on impactful projects, including the completion of our ultra-modern ICT Library, to provide a conducive environment for our young learners in the pursuit of their academic excellence. Our collective strength, unity and unwavering commitment will determine the heights we will reach,” she added.
The ten-member executive was sworn in by Justice Eleanor Kakra Barnes-Botchway, a Circuit Court Judge at Gbetsile, Tema, also a ‘MOGAN’.

She cautioned the new executives to refrain from pride and arrogance in their duties and interactions with the members of the Association.
The Very Reverend Dr Abraham Boateng, in a sermon, advised the executives to serve willingly, expecting no reward as they would be blessed with time for their diligence.
Mr Moses Kwesi Baiden Junior, the Ebusuapanyin of Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA), said the Association looked forward to deepening the partnership with MOGA to promote their shared interests.
“We are confident that our collective efforts will yield positive outcomes and create lasting impacts,” he said.
Meanwhile, the event witnessed a 10,000 cash donation towards the incoming Speech and Prize-giving day in early March.
Present at the ceremony were old members of other allied schools within the Cape Coast enclave, such as the Adisadel College, Wesley Girls’, and Saint Augustine’s College.
Mfantsiman Girls School was initiated in 1958 by the Late Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President, and established in 1960 as a gesture of appreciation to the people of Saltpond for their role in the political struggle for independence.
