May Edochie, estranged wife of actor Yul Edochie, has addressed the criticism she’s faced from some men following her divorce. According to Nigeria’s Daily Post, May filed for divorce in 2023, citing adultery after Yul’s marriage to his colleague, Judy Austin.

In response to backlash from men who accused her of promoting divorce, May clarified her position during an interview on the Glasshouse podcast with comedian AY Makun. She explained, “Some men see me as someone who is misleading their wives.”

Emphasizing her support for marriage, she said, “I love family and marriage. But there is a misconception about marriage that’s totally different from what it should be. Marriage is the foundation of family, and I’m not in any way advocating for separation or divorce.”

May’s comments sought to dispel any misunderstandings, affirming her respect for the institution of marriage and family.
