Maxwell Woledzi, a Ghanaian defender, assisted Fredrikstad in defeating Molde in the final of the Norwegian Cup on Saturday.
Since joining the team, the center-back has been essential, and he played every minute of the final as his team won by penalty shootout.
Fredrikstad advanced to the cup competition final by defeating Drobak Frogn, Eik-T, Rosenborg, Raufoss, KFUM Oslo, and Valerenga.
Molde made multiple threats in what appeared to be a fiercely contested match, but the Fredikstad defense was able to repel any threat.
They might have appeared to be the contest’s second favorites, but Fredrikstad scored all five of their penalties while Molde missed their first in the shootout, giving the former the victory.
After finishing sixth at the end of the season, Fredriktsad was promoted to the top division in Norway.
