John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), believes the declaration of four parliamentary seats as vacant is a divine sign of the party’s victory in the December 2024 elections.
Speaker Alban Bagbin approved a motion by former Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu, stating that the four MPs – Cynthia Morrison (Agona West), Kojo Asante (Suhum), Andrew Asiamah (Fomena), and Peter Kwakye Ackah (Amenfi Central) – forfeited their seats by running as independent candidates, violating parliamentary membership provisions.
Mahama expressed optimism during a Ningo-Prampram rally, urging supporters to remain committed to ensure the party’s triumph. He emphasized that although the situation is encouraging, the NDC must continue its efforts to secure victory.
Mahama’s confidence in the NDC’s victory is also reflected in his submission of nomination forms to the Electoral Commission headquarters. With the December 2024 elections approaching, the NDC is gearing up for a strong campaign.
