The Local Government Minister, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, has expressed his displeasure with the subpar quality of work on the ongoing Odawna and Mallam markets projects. During a recent tour of the sites, the minister voiced his concerns about the contractor’s performance and the government engineer’s oversight.
The Odawna and Mallam markets projects aim to enhance operational efficiency and revitalize market infrastructure. However, the minister’s visit revealed substandard work, prompting him to demand improved performance from the contractor and greater vigilance from the government engineer.
Dr. Andrews Kwablah, Chief Executive of NKA Consult Engineers, acknowledged the shortcomings and assured the minister that efforts are underway to address the issues and deliver satisfactory results. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The Municipal Chief Executives for Klottey Korley and Ablekuma North, Hon. Samuel James Nii Adjei Tawiah and Hon. Kofi Ofori, respectively, reaffirmed their commitment to meeting the minister’s expectations.
The minister’s visit and stern warning serve as a wake-up call to contractors and government officials responsible for the project’s execution. The government’s emphasis on quality and accountability is evident, and the successful completion of these projects will significantly benefit the market communities and the nation as a whole.
