Little Big Souls, Balmaisha Foundation donate to Tamale Teaching Hospital

The Little Big Souls in collaboration with Balmaisha Foundation, both NGOs, have donated some items to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH).

The items donated included an oxygen concentrator, 10 packets of examination gloves, 500 grams of cotton, two boxes of plaster, two boxes of purple cannula, 10 incubator nests, a box of baby wipes and two sacks of diapers.

The gesture was to commemorate this year’s prematurity awareness creation month, which falls in the month of November and observed under the theme: “Strength in Every Step: Empowering Families, Ensuring Access”.

The gesture was also supported by the November Borns of the Rotary Club as part of its annual support to the vulnerable.

Madam Edith Uyovbukerhi, Co-founder, Little Big Souls, speaking during the presentation of the items to the authorities of the hospital in Tamale, said it was to support the NICU to execute its duties more effectively and to ensure premature babies were given the needed care to survive.

Madam Fayudatu Yakubu, Executive Director of Balmaisha Foundation, said the collaboration formed part of the organisation’s commitment to increase more awareness on premature babies and the need to provide the enabling environment and facilities to support them.

Madam Mary Arabe, immediate past President, Rotary Club of Tamale District 9104 said the gesture was part of the November Borns’ annual support initiative to the needy.

Madam Victoria Awalenkak Agwiah, Neonatal Nurse Specialist in-charge of the NICU at TTH, who received the items on behalf of the unit, thanked the Little Big Souls, Balmaisha Foundation, and their partners for coming to the aid of the unit.
