LeBron James broke the record for most minutes played in NBA history by helping the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Sacramento Kings.
The 39-year-old American passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar by completing his 57,447th minute on the court in Friday’s 113-100 victory.
James, who eclipsed Abdul-Jabbar for the all-time NBA scoring record earlier this year, scored 19 points while teammate Austin Reaves led the way with 25 points.
“It’s just a commitment to the craft and the passion and love that I have for the game,” James said.
“I’m not taking a lot of time off, a little more time now.”
Elsewhere, Brooklyn Nets center Nic Claxton was ejected after throwing a ball into the crowd during his team’s 101-94 win over the Toronto Raptors. Claxton showed his frustration after getting stuck on his way to the basket before being escorted off the court by the referees after attempting to throw a pillow.
Meanwhile, Zach LaVine scored a season-high 36 points as he led the Chicago Bulls to a 117-108 victory over the defending champion Boston Celtics.
LaVine made six 3-pointers while adding six rebounds and four assists as the Bulls won their third straight.
French star Victor Wembanyama scored 42 points to help the San Antonio Spurs to a 133-126 overtime win over the Atlanta Hawks, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 35 points led the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 105-99 victory over the Orlando Magic.
The Memphis Grizzlies, New York Knicks and Houston Rockets also had wins.
