Konongo Odumase SHS old students honour amputee student

The Old Students Association of the Konongo Odumase Senior High School (KOSS) has presented an amount of Gh¢ 2,000.00 to Master Hayford Addai, an amputee athlete of the school, for his outstanding performance during the 2025 Ashanti Regional Super Zonal Schools Athletic Competition.
Master Addai is a 16-year-old first year Visual Arts student and has his left hand amputated.
Despite this challenge, he out-staged his opponents and sprinted the last berth to win the 4×200 relay to qualify his school for the finals of the competition.
The money was presented to him during a party organised by the school, to appreciate the athletes for their notable performance at the just ended Super-zonal athletic competition.
The competition was organised by the Ashanti Regional Schools and Colleges Sports Federation at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and attracted 30 senior high schools in the Ashanti region.

Dr Benjamin K. Baah, the Headmaster of the Konongo Odumase SHS applauded the athletes for making the school proud and outperforming their expectations by obtaining a gold medal.
He said it was a step in a good direction to rebuild the athletic department as it was the first medal won at the super zonal level in the history of the school.
Dr Baah advised the athletes to take their academic works seriously as they build their talents in athletics to make them holistic individuals.
He again urged the athletes to be disciplined and law-abiding citizens in the country, as they tried to make their ambitions a reality.
Dr Baah acknowledged the efforts of the sports department, school management and other stakeholders in ensuring that the athletes, most of whom were first years, received proper training for such results.
Master Addai promised to work hard to perform better in both sprint and football in the future.
He thanked the school’s management and the old student’s association for recognising his efforts and hard work during the super-zonal athletic competition.
Master Addai, hails from Abroma, near Boaman, in the Afigya Kwabre North District of the Ashanti Region.
He completed his basic school education at the Abroma D/A School in 2024 and gained admission to the Konongo Odumase SHS same year.
