Kendrick Lamar to Headline 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar will headline the Super Bowl LIX halftime show in 2025, the NFL announced on Sunday. Lamar confirmed the news on his social media pages, stating, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

The highly anticipated performance will take place on February 9, 2025, at the Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, airing on FOX. This marks Lamar’s first time headlining the halftime show, which draws millions of viewers annually.

Lamar previously performed at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2022 alongside Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent. Jay-Z, whose company Roc Nation will serve as the strategic entertainment advisor for Lamar’s performance, praised the rapper as a “once-in-a-generation artist and performer.”

Lamar is a celebrated hip-hop artist with 17 Grammy wins and a Pulitzer Prize for his 2017 album “Damn.” His recent releases, including “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers” and hit tracks “Like That” and “Not Like Us,” have solidified his impact on the music industry.

The Super Bowl halftime show has a history of delivering record-breaking performances, with Usher’s 2022 set drawing an average of 123.4 million viewers and Rihanna’s 2023 performance reaching 121 million viewers
