Kendrick Lamar has been revealed as the headline performer for the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, set to take place on February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
This marks Lamar’s second appearance at the NFL’s marquee event, having previously performed as a guest during Dr. Dre’s iconic 2022 hip-hop showcase. However, this will be his first time leading the show, making him only the second rapper ever to headline the prestigious halftime performance.
“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” Lamar said in a statement. “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”
The creative direction for Lamar’s performance will be led by pgLang, the creative collective he co-founded. Although he hasn’t released a new album since 2022’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, Lamar has continued to make waves in the hip-hop world, contributing to the chart-topping single “Like That” and engaging in a high-profile rap feud with Drake, which resulted in his hit track “Not Like Us.”
The Halftime Show will be broadcast live on Fox and will be executive produced by Roc Nation for the sixth consecutive year as part of their ongoing partnership with the NFL. JAY-Z, head of Roc Nation, commended Lamar’s cultural impact, stating, “Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. His work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”
As the title sponsor for the third year in a row, Apple Music will offer fans exclusive content, including videos, interviews, and playlists, to enhance the experience of Lamar’s performance.
